Submission Guidelines

The CSG Literary Partners agency specializes in Adult Non-Fiction only. We do NOT handle Fiction (unless written by one of our current authors), Computer, Religion, Children’s or Memoir unless there is a sizeable platform associated with it by the author or the subject. I’m sorry, but I won’t respond to any memoir query that does not have a sizeable platform attached to it.

To judge our interest in your work, please email a carefully crafted and brief query letter. If you do have a book proposal, feel free to attach it as a Word or PDF document. Please, we do NOT accept phone queries. If you have questions or wish to receive our Book Proposal Format documents to learn how to write and structure a terrific book proposal, please use email. We only respond to calls from our current valued authors and editors.

We usually respond very quickly, but if you have not heard anything back within a week or two, feel free to send an email requesting the status. We’re human – emails sometime slip through cracks or find their way into email heaven.

If you are unsuccessful in finding an agent, every author should be aware that there are many small to medium-sized publishers that accept submissions online directly from authors without an agent.  You can easily do an online search for “publishers accepting submissions online direct from authors.”

If you do find a publisher in this manner, I heartily recommend that you get yourself an agent. The agent’s 15% commission more than makes up for the protection, higher advances, and input that the agent provides towards the entire publishing process including marketing and promotion.
